This year AGU is remote like many other conferences have done over the past months. This year AGU is still offering the travel grants for students who will remotely attend to help with attendance cost.
This year the travel grant is a little different. In total, the award is $1000 if selected. The first $500 dollars can be used to reimburse purchases or rental technology (WiFi hotspot, laptop, laptop accessories, computer software), transportation to access technology, housing to access technology, dependent care, unpaid leave/lost wages, etc.
Then, following the conference, with a short report, an additional $500 is dispersed for coverage of educational expenses (tuition, fees, housing, loans, transportation, personal expenses). That’s pretty exciting!
