Howdy!
What an exciting first week of our internships! Though we have only been here a week, I feel like I’ve already been packing in as much adventure as possible! Firstly, I miss the Boulder Bike Trail. It’s been a blast getting back on two wheels and riding the bike everywhere – including to Longmont & back! I’ve also checked out some of the trail systems and went rock climbing (on some beautiful igneous rock) at Umbrella Tree with Brandon and Elder!
Today, I’m heading into the wilderness of the Cache la Poudre Basin, by Fort Collins to collect soil samples for my project. I look forward to another fun day in the sun! After we collect soil samples today, I will spend the rest of the week running the samples through a burn simulator followed by a rainfall simulator. I’ll keep you all posted on how that goes.
