We had another successful day of burns, involving another round through
the western fuels, Ponderosa pine, Douglas-fir (it’s not really a Fir we
have been told), and Engelmann Spruce (which is actually a spruce). We
tried a short burn for calibration purposes, but will have to take a
Mulligan on that since key instruments didn’t catch it.

During our 5PM meeting we had short presentations from Kyle Zarzana
about the cavity enhanced spectrometer measurements of glyoxal, et al.,
and Lindsay Hatch and Coty Jen about their groups’ 2-D GC/TOFMS analyses
of VOCs.

We will proceed to burn more FASMEE fuels (Fish Lake) and SE fuels
(Loblolly Pine) in the next few days.
