First of all, it was amazing getting to know each and every one of you. I hope Friday went well for everyone. I was lucky enough to actually hike up to the tundra lab and start measurements. Side note: DO NOT FORGET SUNSCREEN! I’m so red, I look like the wrong end of a baboon. 8 miles through snow is was exhausting, yet insightful and exhilarating!
While I was visiting my grandma this weekend, I happened to glance at the local newspaper and saw the MRS on the front page! It was a feature on the research up at the tundra lab and it even mentioned my specific project on the saddle catchment at Niwot Ridge. I will bring the paper in on Wednesday for anyone who wants to check it out. This paper was the bridge to explaining the importance of our work this summer. I am finally able to connect these abstract research topics with the real-world conversations. It mostly just comes out as “Look! Thats what I am doing this summer!”
