I’ve compiled a quick and easy fact sheet about air pollution (in terms of PM) in UB.

Interesting report. I would have never expected a remote country like Mongolia to have that poor of air quality.
10% of all deaths being air quality related is awful. Any idea if the air quality inside their homes is better or worse than outside?
Good question, Kevin. There are no recent studies (to my knowledge) on indoor air pollution in Ulaanbaatar (and if anyone knows of one, please post to UBAirPollution.org!). I imagine in the ger district, where half of the UB population live in traditional felt tents, it is equally as bad as the outdoors (and perhaps worse, depending on their chimney/stove). The apartments seem a bit better, but this is based on my own experience in my own apartment which hasn’t included the winter time yet.
