CU Boulder campus announced on October 3 that it would be issuing a $1,300, one-time targeted retention payment to regular salaried employees including research faculty, tenure track faculty, and university staff employed with the university as of September 1, 2022.

Eligible employees will receive the retention payment with their end-of-October 2022 paychecks. The payment amount is $1,300 before taxes and deductions, will be prorated based on percent of appointment, and will be taxed as a bonus. The payment is being funded  from a mix of campus and system funding sources. This payment is separate and distinct from any January 2023 merit increases. More information  on the merit increases will be provided at a later time.

To receive the one-time payment, eligible employees must be in compliance with the campus COVID-19 vaccine reporting requirement by Oct. 12, 2022. To verify your compliance please visit the MyCUHealth portal, click on “Upload” at the upper right of the page, and this will show you the documents you have on file. You must have the initial vaccine series and one booster to be considered in compliance. Information on this requirement and instructions on how to upload any missing documentation can be found here.

Graduate students on appointment, hourly employees, student hourly employees, and temporary staff including working retirees, are excluded from the one-time retention payment.

Employees who have given notice of resignation or have a current or future termination date in the CU HR system are NOT eligible for the one-time retention payment. Currently active CU Boulder employees who transfer or promote within CU Boulder remain eligible if all other eligibility criteria are met.
