President Biden has declared January 9, 2025 a National Day of Mourning to mark the passing of former President Jimmy Carter. President Biden has ordered Federal offices closed.
As previously communicated, CIRES employees working within a NOAA unit will follow the federal schedule, including any national days of mourning. Embedded CIRES employees are not expected to work in-person or remotely on federal holidays and federal facilities will be closed for most access.
