The University of Colorado Boulder’s International Student and Scholar Services has informed CIRES HR that any new exchange visitors in J-1 (BridgeUSA) status will be required to work on-site (not remotely) for at least 3 days per week.
New Bridge USA employees are any J-1 employees who were issued DS-2019s on or after May 31, 2022. Please ensure that your new employees in J-1 Exchange Visitor status complete remote work agreements indicating a minimum of 3 in-office work days per week. (Through the online remote work agreement page in InsideCIRES)
This rule has been implemented so that the campus is in compliance with the United States Department of States’ Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) updated guidance regarding hybrid operations of a university sponsor.
