First field day was this week since we’ve been graced with some rainless weather. We started early to avoid the abuse of sunlight and I quickly learnt that exact measurements in geology is not only impossible but a disadvantage. We set our constants such as the area of data collection, maximum number of measurements to take, and the minimum size of sediment to measure. Once these were set, I whipped the tape measure around and yelled out the measurements for Charlie to write down. We saw a really old car wreck down in the valley and I learnt what poison ivy looks like.

Fell behind on some office work having too much fun this week, so hopefully, my overtime today will catch me up.

Good luck you all.

  • Sounds like you made progress – setting the parameters you will be measuring is certainly important! Please include some pictures of your field site. We want to see what it looks like.
