29 November 2014 is our second day at sea.  At 13:00 ship time, the same time zone as New Zealand, our position was 51.93 degrees south by 177.1 degrees east.  The seas calmed down a bit, which is a huge relief.  We can’t really go outside on the deck, especially in rough seas, so its a matter of settling into life inside the ship.  That means there is not a whole lot to do, so you take to complaining about the food.

Dinner

A typical Korean style meal aboard the Araon

The food in general does not taste bad, it has some unusual textures and is often extremely salty.  The above meal is some noodles, a substance that is probably compressed protein, baby octopus on rice, kimchi and some sort of vegetable.  I like kimchi, and the rest of it was tolerable.
