The journey to Jang Bogo station starts with a very long day of flying to Christchurch, New Zealand. With layovers in Los Angles and Auckland. It’s summer time here ‘down under’ with very long daylight hours already.
On the Air New Zealand Airlines, one very notable this is their preflight safety video. Normally a boring and repetitive thing we have to endure, they really made it interesting. If you have never seen it, you have to look at The Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made. Its hilarious!
Christchurch is still showing the destruction of the devastating February 2011 magnitude 6.3 earthquake. Our hotel is just a block from one of the more famous landmarks, the Christchurch Cathedral. This is how it looks today. Unfortunately, it is very closed, so we can only see the outside.
This is my first time in New Zealand, and I was recommended to try the fish and chips, so my first dinner was to a local public house for an order. Not only was it very tasty, I like how it was served on a cutting board and in the fry basket. Delicious!
