A recent WHO survey of global air pollution has been causing my google alert for “ulaanbaatar” and “air pollution” to go crazy today! The data for UB is not surprising or new (it is from a 2009 World Bank Report that relies on PM10 and PM2.5 data collected in 2008 by the UB Air Pollution Team led by Prof. Lodoysamba – my main collaborator in UB – at the National University of Mongolia – file posted on UBAirPollution.org), but it is interesting to see it compared to other cities around the world.

Check out a summarized version from the Washington Post, a cool version with interactive graphics on The Guardian, and the actual data set used in the WHO report (also posted on UBAirPollution.org).
