Girls* on Rock is looking for 18+, female-identifying, and non-binary volunteer gear fairies.
Girls* on Rock is a 12-day expedition program aimed at supporting girls* in their pursuits of science, art, and the outdoors. A portion of the expedition is spent at a front country campsite, and some in the backcountry. When the team transitions to and from the backcountry, we utilize volunteer gear fairies to ferry camp gear out and back. This is where we need your help! Come join us for a hike and to help carry gear in the beautiful Gore Range on July 21 and/or 26. The hike is approximately 7 miles round trip and is based out of Wheeler Lake Trailhead in Copper, CO. Volunteers should plan for about an 8am start time out of the trailhead each day. Bring a large pack and be able to carry >35lb, and should plan to attend a brief virtual info session on July 6 at 6pm. Sign up to volunteer at this link.
