Dear Colleagues,

We want to provide you with an update on COVID-related operational guidance from CU Boulder, as of July 1.

Masks: Masks or facial coverings are no longer required indoors on the CU Boulder campus, including CIRES units, as of July 1.

Inside CIRES facilities, masks or facial coverings are still strongly encouraged for individuals who are not fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Masks or facial coverings are still required in CIRES conference rooms during group meetings where the occupancy exceeds 50% capacity. This includes CIRES members, affiliates, and visitors.

Masks continue to be required indoors in healthcare settings, child care settings, youth camps, and on public transit.

Employees: All employees (faculty, research, and university staff) need to submit their COVID-19 vaccine information to complete the CU system COVID-19 vaccine requirement. Please note this is a change from prior campus guidance: Employees should take this action regardless of whether or not you received your vaccine in Colorado. The only exception is faculty and staff vaccinated through CU Boulder Medical Services; data from Medical Services will be uploaded to the portal on your behalf.

  • To upload your proof of vaccination or approved exemption: Log into the Portal. Detailed instructions are available through Medical Services. The deadline is Sept. 15, 2021.
  • Do you still need a vaccine? Sign up here.

Students: For fall 2021, all undergraduate and graduate students need to complete the COVID-19 vaccine requirement by Sept. 15, 2021. More information on this and other immunization requirements is available from Health and Wellness Services.

Additional campus information is available here.

And please note that we’ve scheduled a CIRES Town Hall with Director Waleed Abdalati July 20, 9 am. Details here.

Thank you,

CIRES Senior Management Team
