Today was colder than yesterday with clear skies and windy conditions. The winds were howling and snow was beginning to drift. We successfully installed our flux measurements and they are recording data overnight to test their success. Tomorrow we will adjust the height structures of our new measurements and continue with our other instrument work. We still need to replace older instruments with new ones or take them down completely for re-calibration. I anticipate tomorrow will be just as busy as today, but it is always so rewarding to see good data!
The twilight is less and less each day. Today it was almost completely dark by 4pm! We plan to be up early tomorrow morning to catch as much twilight as we can for the rest of our field installations. Looking forward to another chilly day tomorrow.
All the best,
The Arctic Team
