Guidance on Quarantine Costs while on University Travel
CIRES Travel has received several questions related to this recent guidance from the Campus Controller’s Office regarding coverage of quarantine costs while on university travel.
What does this mean for you?
Quarantine costs while on university travel can be supported on individual DAICR funds. If the traveler does not have DAICR funds, a request can be made for them to be supported on Associate Director DAICR funds. As a final option, CIRES, with Director approval, may consider supporting these costs as a hardship request. If you wish to include travel insurance for lodging and airfare for an upcoming trip, this requires prior approval from CIRES Travel. Travel Insurance cannot be charged to sponsored funds but can be supported on DAICR funds.
