This is a periodic reminder about tracking your publications, required by our cooperative agreement with NOAA and part of your annual self-assessments. Tracking your publications helps you better report your successes and helps CIRES better report institute-wide success to funders such as NOAA and CU Boulder.
By June 1, please update your journal publication list to date.
Please note 3 key things:
1. Claim/add (or reject) peer-reviewed journal papers using CU Elements. You can log in using your CU Boulder Identikey and password (remember: VPN is now needed to access CU Information Systems from off-campus). Publications entered in Elements before 5 p.m. will be available on your InsideCIRES publications list the following day.
The easiest way for CU Elements to find your publications is with an ORCiD. Most of you already have an ORCiD—but if you don’t, please search for your name at https://orcid.org. CU Boulder may have applied for an ORCiD for you already, and you can register for one if you don’t see yours.
2. To report other published work (books, book chapters, white papers, reports, editorial material, datasets…), please use this form (similar to what you’ve done during ASA season): https://insidecires.colorado.edu/asa/publication_other.php
3. Our colleagues at NOAA are also required to track publications, and we are coordinating our efforts to reduce the time you need to spend on this task. If you work in a NOAA lab/center, please also respond to those requests for reporting.
Your assistance will allow us to meet NOAA’s reporting requirements and will also help you complete your ASA self-assessment.
If you need help, please contact the CIRES communications team at CIRESnews@colorado.edu, and someone will get back to you within a few days.
Thank you!
