MeCCO assembles the data by accessing archives through the Lexis Nexis, Proquest and Factiva databases via the University of Colorado libraries. These fifty sources are selected through a decision processes involving weighting of three main factors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>geographical diversity (favoring a greater geographical range)<\/li>\n<li>circulation (favoring higher circulating publications)<\/li>\n<li>reliable access to archives over time (favoring those accessible consistently for longer periods of time)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sciencepolicy.colorado.edu\/icecaps\/research\/media_coverage\/world\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">World<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/sciencepolicy.colorado.edu\/icecaps\/research\/media_coverage\/australia\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Australia<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/sciencepolicy.colorado.edu\/icecaps\/research\/media_coverage\/canada\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Canada<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/sciencepolicy.colorado.edu\/icecaps\/research\/media_coverage\/germany\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Germany<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/sciencepolicy.colorado.edu\/icecaps\/research\/media_coverage\/india\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">India<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/sciencepolicy.colorado.edu\/icecaps\/research\/media_coverage\/japan\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Japan<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/sciencepolicy.colorado.edu\/icecaps\/research\/media_coverage\/new_zealand\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">New Zealand<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/sciencepolicy.colorado.edu\/icecaps\/research\/media_coverage\/spain\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Spain<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/sciencepolicy.colorado.edu\/icecaps\/research\/media_coverage\/uk\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">United Kingdom<\/a>, &amp; <a href=\"http:\/\/sciencepolicy.colorado.edu\/icecaps\/research\/media_coverage\/usa\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">United States<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just Updated through March 2017 Global &amp; 9 National Scales, *Germany just added The Media and Climate Change Observatory (MeCCO) monitors fifty-two sources across twenty-eight countries in seven different regions around the world.
