The data for UB is not surprising or new (it is from a <a href=\"http:\/\/siteresources.worldbank.org\/INTMONGOLIA\/Resources\/Air_pollution_final_report.pdf\">2009 World Bank Report<\/a> that relies on PM10 and PM2.5 data collected in 2008 by the UB Air Pollution Team led by <a href=\"http:\/\/cires.colorado.edu\/blogs\/mongolia\/2011\/08\/12\/mmss4-professor-lodoysamba\/\">Prof. Lodoysamba<\/a> &#8211; my main collaborator in UB &#8211; at the National University of Mongolia &#8211; file posted on <a href=\"http:\/\/cires.colorado.edu\/blogs\/mongolia\/wp-admin\/ubairpollution.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">UBAirPollution.org<\/a>), but it is interesting to see it compared to other cities around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Check out a summarized version from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/asia-pacific\/who-cities-in-iran-south-asia-among-worst-worldwide-for-pollution\/2011\/09\/26\/gIQA7renyK_story.html\" target=\"_blank\">Washington Post<\/a>, a cool version with interactive graphics on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/environment\/datablog\/2011\/sep\/26\/global-air-pollution-who?fb=optOut#data\">The Guardian<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.who.int\/phe\/health_topics\/outdoorair\/databases\/en\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">the actual data set<\/a> used in the WHO report (also posted on <a href=\"http:\/\/ubairpollution.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">UBAirPollution.org<\/a>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A recent WHO survey of global air pollution has been causing my google alert for &#8220;ulaanbaatar&#8221; and &#8220;air pollution&#8221; to go crazy today!
