My research studies are conducted in the Alpine Microbial Observatory under the guidance of Prof. Steve Schmidt (https://alpinemicrobialobservatory.weebly.com/). I investigate microbial community assembly and succession across a spectrum of environments, including some of Earth’s coldest and driest extremes. These studies range from exploring the impact of herbicides on soil microbial communities in temperate grasslands to the effects of water and nutrient availability on extremophile communities of the Dry Valleys of Antarctica and arid volcanoes of the Andes- of which will now include Ojos Del Salado.

-Adam

Canada Glacier, McMurdo Dry Valleys (2019)

Hi everyone, this is Adam Solon and I am a graduate student in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Colorado Boulder.
