I got the news that I might be deployed to McMurdo Station, Antarctica two weeks ago, now I&#8217;m already waiting for my winter flight to the ice in New Zealand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1702\" height=\"1276\" src=\"https:\/\/ciresblogs.colorado.edu\/lidarexploration\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/73\/2024\/01\/C17.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-505\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1702\" height=\"1276\" src=\"https:\/\/ciresblogs.colorado.edu\/lidarexploration\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/73\/2024\/01\/broading-pass.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-506\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I called Dr. Chu on Thursday at 2:31pm about my New Zealand Visa approval and called her again at 2:29pm on Friday about my arrival in Auckland, New Zealand (almost exact 24 hours after). This is like a miracle!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m now the first person in Chu Lidar Group with two WINFLY trips \u2014 unprecedented in the group ever!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Dr. Chu said: &#8220;There will be difficulties or challenges on the roads.
