Both also have guidance on expectations of inclusive excellence:&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cu.edu\/ope\/aps\/5059\" target=\"_blank\">Workplace\u00a0Bullying<\/a>\u00a0APS\u00a0(administrative policy statement)<\/li><li>Code\u00a0of Conduct APS: Principles of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cu.edu\/ope\/aps\/2027\" target=\"_blank\">Ethical Behavior<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.colorado.edu\/odece\/diversity-plan\/inclusive-excellence-campus-definition\" target=\"_blank\">Inclusive Excellence competency<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colorado.edu\/chancellor\/strategic-plan\">Colorado<\/a><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.colorado.edu\/chancellor\/strategic-plan\" target=\"_blank\"> Creed<\/a>: <em>As a member of the Boulder community and the University of Colorado Boulder, I agree to:\u00a0<\/em><ul><li><em>Act with honor, integrity and accountability in my interactions with students, faculty, staff\u00a0and neighbors.\u00a0<\/em><\/li><li><em>Respect the rights of others and accept our differences.\u00a0<\/em><\/li><li><em>Contribute to the greater good of this community.<\/em><\/li><li>These values are reinforced by our\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.colorado.edu\/odece\/diversity-plan\">Inclusive Excellence<\/a>\u00a0Initiative. CU Boulder\u2019s identity is defined by respect for diversity and inclusivity.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If a CIRES employee has any concerns related to&nbsp;bullying&nbsp;behavior, whether it was observed, perceived, experienced, etc., the employee should reach out to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:cireshr@colorado.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CIRES HR<\/a>&nbsp;or Angela Knight directly. HR will work with the employee(s) to better understand the nature of the concern and issue at hand.&nbsp; As appropriate, HR may involve central HR\u2019s Employee Relations Office, which oversees the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cu.edu\/ope\/aps\/5059\">Workplace&nbsp;Bullying&nbsp;Policy<\/a>&nbsp;for the Boulder campus.&nbsp;If a CIRES employee is found to be exhibiting behavior that constitutes&nbsp;bullying&nbsp;per the CU System&nbsp;policy, HR will work with that employee and their supervisor to address the issue through campus disciplinary protocols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the situation where a scenario involves both a CIRES and federal employee, it is more complicated in that, while we can access university resources, the university policies do not apply to non-CU employees. In those situations, CIRES HR will work with the reporting employee to understand the issue\/concern and then work to partner with respective federal colleagues to ensure 1) they are aware of the situation and 2) report it as appropriate through their leadership chain. If the perpetrator is a federal employee, we further work to see if this can be addressed through performance protocols or other mechanisms on the federal side.
