We woke up this morning to completely overcast skies.\u00a0 At the start of this trip we of course an<\/p>\n

Pondering the overcast skies….<\/p><\/div>\n

ticipated there would be weather-related cancellations, but today\u2019s sky cover was disappointing because it was the day the OCO-2 satellite was set to target observations over SGP ARM.\u00a0 We checked numerous weather forecasting resources to see what would be happening around the noon launch time, and it looked like it miiiiiight clear up enough by then.\u00a0 So we drove the 45 minutes to the lab and Bianca prepped the AirCores while Jack and Sonja loaded the launch and tracking equipment into the vehicle.\u00a0 Still overcast.\u00a0 Forecast still iffy.\u00a0 So we drove the two chase vehicles another 45 minutes out to today\u2019s launch area.\u00a0 Still overcast.\u00a0 We texted Liz and Harrison back at the TCCON.\u00a0 Also overcast.\u00a0 Sigh.<\/p>\n

After standing around for half an hour or so, we finally gave up and headed back to the lab, unloaded our equipment and went back to town.\u00a0 Harrumph.<\/p>\n

We did stop in at Boomer\u2019s Tire Service to have a few-day-old screw removed from our tire and get it patched!<\/p>\n

The Rusty Barrel Supper Club!<\/p><\/div>\n

And for dinner we went on our ritual trip to The Rusty Barrel Supper Club for steaks and baked potatoes with potato-sized globs of butter on them.\u00a0 So you can\u2019t say we didn\u2019t accomplish anything today!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
