In a previous posting I talked a bit about the exercise out here. There is a core group of us that are fairly dedicated to routine appearances in the gym. Sometime early in the cruise a form was put on the gym door for logging kilometers on the various exercise vehicles (rowing machine, bikes, treadmill, run/ski contraptions) and a race was proposed:  Us against Oden, who can make it to Barrow first? The proposed Oden cruise path comprises some 8000+ km! Based on our progress thus far we have decided that, were we to actually voyage from Tromso to Barrow by boat, bike, foot, and ski, we would probably take the direct route, which nearly passes through the North Pole. I’ve adapted my location plot to add the current sea-ice conditions, and I’ve added our race path to Barrow. 4335km. We are approaching 2000km at just about the mid-point of the cruise. So we have our work cut out for us if we plan to make it to Barrow first. Fortunately, Oden has some heavy ice in her way!
